Leather Coats and Jackets for Christmas
Is hard to imagine anything more wonderful to give or receive than a new leather motorcycle jacket! Oh, yes, the old one is soooo comfy and broken in, but a new one gives you a different point of view. Just to smell the leather when you open the box is exhilerating! So think "leather" this Christmas, and make your Honey happy!

Just Wondering....
While coming home the other day I noticed an older gentleman riding a motorcycle coming at me from the opposite direction. It was drizzling rain, about 55 degrees, and altogether yukky outside. But this rider, who had a white beard, had no motorcycle jacket on, no helmet, and no other kind of protection on his body other than a loose-fitting shirt, which was blowing in the wind. I know he had to be freezing cold!! Ever wonder why people do things like that? Makes me wonder....

If you're a beginner, I suggest you get a couple of motorcycle magazines, or go on several sites that sell leather jackets in your area. You'll be surprised to see that motorcycle dealerships and department stores charge far more for quality leather jackets than online sites do.
Select a motorcycle jacket that will keep you warm in cold weather and protect your skin from road damage if you ever have to lay your bike down, or worse still, have an accident. Avoid jackets that are made from poor quality leathers as they are smoothed with a wax and won't last long. Jackets made from cowhide or water buffalo leathers are the best.
If your riding is still in the casual stage of rides mainly on the weekends, you won't need to consider buying a jacket with armor just yet. A good leather motorcycle jacket will give you all the protection you need!

Never The Wrong Weather, Only The Wrong Gear
My husband and I took our 2nd annual motorcycle trip to Knoxville, TN to see the fall colors. Our weather was 37 degrees, cold and rainy, definitely the wrong weather for a full day motorcycle ride. I did have my leather jacket on, but I didn’t have warm leather gloves and knew within 5 minutes that my hands were not going to survive the cold and rain without the correct motorcycle gloves. At our first rest stop I got out my blackberry and started searching for motorcycle gloves and found a pair of Giovanni Navarre leather gloves complete with a rain cover which I will be ordering from www.BikerLeatherPlus.com in the near future. It was a lesson to be learned, and one I learned the hard way. Be sure you check out your gear and make sure before you start your trip that you have the right gear for the wrong weather.
